Why a pizza slice is more expensive than a whole pizza?

I have always wondered why is this, sometimes i just want to eat a couple of slices and then i go to the pizza plice and just one slice of hawaiian pizza costs 3,75 if you buy 2 slices its like 7,50 so i better go to dominos pizza to get a whole pizza for 7,99 or to little ceasars to get a large hawaiian pizza for 8 dollars, but sometimes i just want to eat a couple of slices, but i always get the whole pizza because if i dont i would feel ripped off slices shoud be cheaper than a whole pizza. What do you think?

That’s how it is with many things. You buy items in smaller quantities, you pay more per item than if you were to buy in larger quantities. It’s a tactic to encourage people to buy more from the company with the discount.

Ontop of that, to make one slice, they need to make a whole pizza. What if only several slices were sold and the rest of the pizza not? They make back the cost with the more expensive slice.

Why not just buy the pizza, eat what you want and leave the rest in the fridge for later?

Answer #2

It’s business. Most people just want a slice.
