Pin pricks

What causes the pin pricks in your hands, like after you sleep on them? What gives them that weird feeling?

ahah I always get that, and I wake up and I have to pick my arm up :S

When you sleep on your hand, your blood flow there is cut off and so it goes all numb and you cant feel anything .. Then you get pin pricks/‘pins and needles’ when the blood starts to circulate in that place again :) x

Your hand was probably numb from the pressure of you sleeping on it - that’s because the nerves were being “crushed”. When you start to move your hand around, the nerves start responding again, but it takes a few minutes for them to transmit properly…so the feeling of pin pricks is basically your nerves “waking up”.
