It’s probably frozen. Try restarting the iPod. Hold the power button until you get the red slider, shut it down then turn it back on.
If it won’t do anything hold down the lock button on top of the phone and the home screen button on front at the same time. Hold them both down until it turns black then the apple symbol will come up. Then let go of the buttons and wait for it to restart.
