How can I persuade my mum that loaning a horse for a month is worth it?

I have enough money to loan a horse, but only for a month. I think this is long enough to simply have the experience etc. At first her only excuse was ‘you won’t be able to say goodbye to it’. I replied with ‘I can always save up for another month’ ‘you won’t because you’d be to busy keeping the horse.’ I really would like to persuade her that 1 month is still worth it! Otherwise I have no chance… Thanks in advance :)

Her arguments are pretty solid, but remind your mom that its your money and this is something you really want to do. Dont whine or argue with her, thats not how your going to get your way. Just explain to her how badly you want this and how you will deal with having to leave the horse after a month if you have too.

One month doesn’t really sound worth it to me either. Depending on the price at the place you’re renting from, you’d be able to buy the horse its self if you saved up a little more. Since you only want the experience, however, I think you’d benefit more from riding lessons or something of the sort.

In any case, the only thing you can do would be to explain to her what you have here. Let her know that you just want to have the experience, nothing more, and that this is more or less “no strings attached” because you don’t want to own it.

Coming from a person that currently owns two horses, they are very expense. If you want the experience, you should take riding lessons first. They can be a lot of work even if you board them somewhere and they take care of them. They still need to be ridden on a regular basis. I have to pay someone to ride my horses because one is my daughter’s and she is off to university and the other is my wife’s and she just does not ride her horse enough to keep him healthy. Pay for the experience of riding first.

I probably should note that I took riding lessons for 3 years hehe ^-^ thanks though :) I appreciate everyone’s help and advice.
