Why to some people say ''am'' instead of ''im'' when txting or writing lol ?

I don’t really know? I know that saying it’s shorter would be absurd as the ‘’I’’ is closer to the ‘’M’’ on a keyboard. I guess they like how it looks? I know that “I’m” is short for ‘’I am” or so goes my understanding, maybe they want to save the I’? I guess it’s just they just do it out of habit lol.

Because when they write am, your mind automatically knows to put the I first to make it make more sense.

It’s slang. It’s how some people actually speak. I dont know why people speak that way. Some how it caught on to IM slang, and now it is how some people IM and we’ve got a further degeneration of the english language (which is what most IM speak is anyways).
