What do you need in order to become a good artist?

paint! and fingers. its not about talent or skill, if you are dedicated and believe, you can make the best art. whose to say one picture is better than another?

First, the desire to do art.
Second, find a medium. Third, practice. Fourth, practice. Fifth, practice. Sixth, practice until you have what you want down to where you don’t have to think about it. Seventh, develop a style. This will come out while doing the practice. Eighth, find an agent. Ninth, do nothing else but that. Tenth, dream it , eat it, sleep it, live it. When you can do all those things above you know you have arrived at what you are…….. an ARTIST.

a medium is what you do art in basically. Such as oil paints, water color, graphite drawings… pastels and so on and so forth

Being and artist is not like learning how to drive, lol. It is not about learning some rules. There’s is no “right” artist or piece of art. Art as a general term means expressing one’s ideas/philosophy/feelings/spirituality trought any medium/modality that one thinks it’s the best one to express exactly what he wants to. If you’re talking about visual art, a visual artist [ex. painter] is that person that expresses himself throught pencil/colours/shapes. The only thing you need to become and artist is the need to create and to express.
