How do you get the character map on a keyboard?

I wanna get to the system character map I think its called to find out how to make all the cool symbals. how do you do it???

I know what you are talking about but its not really a map I used to do it back in the day you use the number keypad and there is certain numbers that you type in to make them random characters appear.

The character map is found under Start - All Programs - Accessories - System Tools. If you’re wondering how people do it from the keyboard, they use the numeric keypad with the relative code: Alt + 1☺ Alt + 2☻ Alt + 3 ♥ Alt + 4 ♦ Alt + 5 ♣ Alt + 6 ♠ Alt + 7 • Alt + 8 ◘ Alt + 9 ○ Alt + 10 ◙ … and so on.
