Neurocardiogenic syncope (also known as reflex syncope, or vasovagal syncope) is the most common type of fainting. It occurs when something triggers a temporary malfunction in your autonomous nervous system.
The malfunction causes a drop in your blood pressure, and a reduction in heart beat, leading to a temporary interruption to your brain’s blood supply.
