Yes, they suffered from a personal trauma. When something like that happens, often a person finds it hard to concentrate or put their heart into anything. What the child need is time, and perhaps seeing someone for help and love from the rest of the family.
yes i think it is completly normal! When you know that your parent passed away than thats all your thinking of. your always sad too. I suggest for the child that lost a parent to skip school for some time and just try to keep your self together! :)
