My mother...

I’m 26 years old and have a place of my own and I have three children. I take care of them with the help of their father… My mother hasnt called me in a week. I think she is mad at me cause she wants my older son but I will not just hand him over. She drinks and on different times had the police get called on her while they were there. She puts him on a high cloud and kinda ignores the younger two. Something is wrong with her like for real in her head should I just leave her alone and let it be? She cant follow my rules when I set them for my son. She lets him do whatever he wants to do. So should I just never mess with her again until she gets right and calls me? And believe me she will not apologize…

Dashwood is right, kids don’t need to be around drunks, you can’t trust them. You already know the right thing to do, act on it. Love to you , Summerrainn

Answer #2

Tell her she has to quit drinking if she wants the kids at her house. You should let her see them, though. But, don’t leave them with her. You never know what can happen when you are drunk.

Answer #3

Tell her to follow your rules on bringing up your kids. oh yeah..and tell her to erm..STOP DRINKING. Thats freaky. Don’t let your kids anywhere close to her as long as she cannot hold her drink. Not to mention, the more she lets your kids do whatever they want..the more they will start resenting you and thinking of you as the ‘bad cop’ that never lets them do anything. Tell her you love her but she can only see the kids based on her following whatever ground rules you set. It putting your kids interests first.
