My kitty doesn't wanna sleep in her bed!

So last christmas (‘07) I bought my kitten a nice bed from petco. It was like $30 And she’s never stayed in it. She was 5 mos old at the time. And she still just likes To sleep on the kitchen chair and like under the beds or with my mom at night In her bed. Any advice to help her sleep in her own bed?

Answer #1

Put her bed, under the bed she likes…she’ll use it then…

They don’t need “beds” they are built to just surive and not have materialistc things to be comforted by, We have to remember we humanized animals, we brought them into our world, They don’t care if it is a bed for her or a rug to wipe your feet.

Answer #3

Is she an old?

They usully want 2 sleep whever but if you put food in her bed,, and train her to stay in theere it might work..

Make sure your cat is in your bedroom when you go to sleep, Close the door so it cant get out, And hopeuflly it will sleep in its bed insted of under the chair..

Or put the bed under the chair… And leave it there.. you never no she may suprise you ><

Answer #4

Maybe if you put her bed on your moms bed since thats where she likes to sleep then she’ll sleep in her bed while it’s on your moms bed

Answer #5

My cat refuses to sleep in her bed. She wont go near it. If I put it in a place where she usually sleeps, she stops sleeping there. You cant make your cat do something she doesnt want to. I’d suggest you let it go… It really isnt worth your time and energy… she likes sleeping in other place, I know it seems like you wasted money, but cats will have their own personalities, cant do much about that…

Answer #6

no, she’s not old. she will be 2 in may. I have tried putting food and catnip in there, but it doesn’t work. =( oh well. just thought I’d ask. thanks for the answers!

Answer #7

I’d try putting catnip and placing the bed on a high but safe elevation. she may have a trust issue: “am I gonna fall fast asleep and unable to wake up and protect myself from danger?” might be the instinct she instinct is experiencing. If you have it elevated to start, she may feel safe, curious and want to claim it. or a dark corner or as another person said under a chair. But I have three cats, two sleep with me one sleeps on my clothes, the dog sleeps in the cat bed LOL …

Answer #8

lol awww sometimes it sucks when you spend so much money on our pets like toys beds etc. because in the end they end up playing or sleeping with and wherever they want. but what you should do is at night close the door and dont let him/her in the room, this way she’ll be forced to sleep in something else. eventually your cat might sleep in her bed. but if you let her sleep from the beginning in a bed then your going to have a harder time because cats get used to sleeping on the bed. also try spraying a cutrus scented spray on the bed or wherever it like to sleep cats hate that smell!

Answer #9

look where kitty likes to sleep and then put the bed there. kitty will love it :)
