My best mate leaves me.

My best girl-mate keeps ditching me for this guy, he’s 19 and she’s only 16. She’s been talking to him for like… a month, if that. And everytime we plan to meet up, she either leaves me half way through the day to meet him, or doesn’t meet me at all. I don’t know how to tell her it’s annoying me without being harsh. I understand she really likes him… But… Mates should always come before guys. Always. Right?

She’s head over heals for this guy. Let her have her fun. Though I suggest you have a talk to her about ditching you all the time, that sounds like a real problem.

Communication is key, you won’t resolve ANYTHING without it.

Not always, I’m afraid.

She’s infatuated with the boy, and if you try to step in the middle of that, you’re going to lose.

She may not be the best friend right now, but she doesn’t realize what she’s doing - she has her head in the clouds.

Perhaps you can arrange a girls-only date with her…something that only you and her will be doing and specify that she has to stick around for the whole thing…she can make plans with her boy later.

It’s not perfect, but friendships are fickle things and you have to tread lightly.

She probably won’t be with this boy forever, and who will be around to comfort her broken heart if you give up on her?

Correct you should just sit down and have that talk to her. I noticed that I use to do my friends like that so I would meet the guy I was with at a later time or ust another day. Round this age a lot og girls tend to get boy crazy even if they dont think so. You should just let her no. But stay by her side because she may still need you if something goes wrong with the relationship as well. If I where you I would just find someone to hang out with while she is with her boyfriend.
