Musical Misogyny: Good or Great?

Home More advice Music

I've been listening to the complete works of 'Led Zeppelin' for the first time in ages. The casual misogyny in their songs struck me like it never did before. Much as I dislike misogyny on a personal level, using the subject as the centre of their music helped inspire killer guitar solos and devastating feedback. So now that we have had waves of terrible female singer songwriters (Katy Perry, Lily Allen, Katie Melua, Lady GaGA, James Blunt etc.) maybe a Musical Misogyny Music Festival (MMMF) should be formed? The end perhaps justifies the means kind of thing? What acts could play? And I was thinking that the stage could be set up Hugh Hefner style like the mansion with dancing bunnies in the background. Maybe he would finance it/ Wouldn't it be great as a retro, postmodern event, a seminal event in many people lives? Men only, to actually critique chauvinism in an ironic way while having a forking good time? Any thoughts or suggestions? By the way, this baby is copyrighted so don't try to steal the idea, my father's a patents lawyer.
