What makes a monster a monster?

Whats their reason to be mean? Can a monster also be a hero? This is for a huge ELA assignment and we want to know other peoples opinions/ answers also

Answer #1

a monster is something/someone who strikes fear into someones heart. they’re reasoning is there own wither its because he’s a mass murder because he was treated bad in school or someone who kills animals for no reason but fun. As for the hero part yes, Hitler was a monster to the world but some saw him as doing the right thing. its all how you look at it

Answer #3

It may be a little late, but I think serial killers are most monsterous. Committing murder alone does not qualify one for being a monster. There are many valid reasons for ending another’s life. Politcal leaders like Hitler are not as monsterous as some would believe. If you were a Jew and locked in a room with Hitler would you be afraid? I wouldn’t. I dont think Hitler was ever known to have killed anyone during his years of leadership, maybe during WW1 while in the trenches though? On the other hand, Islam’s goldenboy Muhammed is known to have personally beheaded hundreds of jews… I would not want to be in a room with him. Anyways back to serial killers, most of whom are sociopaths and have no conscience. Thats what frightens me. Think of the movie Hostel or Hostel 2… the “sportsmen” in those really sicken me. I dont see how someone can pop somebody’s eyeball and fry them with a torch. Think of the woman in Hostel 2 who had the sweet girl hanging upside down and she cut her open with some kind of hook and took a bath in her fluids…. she didnt kill her out of rage or anger, she killed her for enjoyment.
