I have been caring for a baby mocking bird for over a week now. He has been eating primarily bird formula, which I got from my vet. You just mix with water and give in a dropper. It is messy so you need to keep the bird wiped off. I’ve had to put mine in a smal amount of water to clean him on several occasions. He is now graduating to bugs, worms, small bits of soft dog food. I feed him at least 10 times during the day. He stops opening his mouth when he is full. They also have a small pouch on the front of the throat that buldges out when the’ve had enough to eat. Mine is flying back and forth between myself and my two boys now. He loves to stand on our fingers and let us slowly lower him down while he flaps his wings. This has been a very interesting and educational experience! My Son found the bird in the middle of the highway, so he was named Highway. He is a lucky little guy. Good luck. Cathy Bland
