marriage and marines

My fiance of a year, is wanting to go into the marines. I have talked him out of it before but then he did this flying thing and now he is ready for it again. I dont want to talk him out of it. but I was wondering if it would be better to get married before or what?

I am an active duty Marine who was in this same situation, we weren’t engaged before I left for bootcamp just dating but I proposed about 6 months into the my enlistment, a year later me and my wife were married and it has definitely been a learning experience and I truly believe that us being apart so long had brought us closer because every time we got to see each other we made the best of it and it really opened our communication levels since most of that time was spent on the phone with each other instead of with each other. You should do what you both feel is what you want, though I will say that being apart so long before getting married has definitely helped my wife become stronger and more able to deal with me being away on deployment now that we are married.

I don’t know my english teacher has her boyfriend in war or something she says they wouldve gotten married but he let her go because he dont know when hes coming back but they love each other he sends her voicemail messages with poems he writes for her on her phone its sweet but shes always worrying about him. hmm I think getting married now, he later wont have time to plan it with u
