How do the March of Dimes events work to raise money?

I want to go to the March of Dimes even that is going to be in my city but I don’t understand how it works. Do we donate money or do we raise money while at the event? I looked on the website but it didn’t say much except for the things that you get for each amount of money you raise.

at my skool certain club members carry around baby bottles & collect money then turn it in. the ppl with the most money raised get sum kind of prize
