Answer #1

OMG!!! the person before me really wants to help you sis! lol!

anyway, yea, I believe that there are positive and negative results it may give you, if you’ll be one..

positive is, if you get to do it the best way you could, and gets to be in a team that works for a salon that serves prominent clients, then you can be famous and be much like a desiner! why? because you did their make-up that makes your own tag for your self.. the outcome of your work will always be your tag, so be the best of it.. however, for negative results it may give you? well, not-so-easy-to-please clients will always be a pain in the a$$… lol! so, be your best always!

good luck!

You should talk to your Career Guidance teacher at school! She will be able to give you advice and help you find great websites about the career!

My cousin is a make-up artist and she didn’t even finish secondary school (high school) she left it and went on to do a course on Hair & Cosmetics and is now a make-up artist for Estee Lauder!:)

I searched the pros and cons online for you!:) These are answers from 2 different make-up artists!

Pros:

Getting to meet and work with fantastic people. Getting to work in lots of different places (much more fun than working in an office!) You get to express your creative side. You get to see the happiness in peoples faces when they see what you have done for them (especially brides)

Working as part of a really committed team, mostly you work with people who are really into whatever it is they do (camera, sound, costume etc!) Using your imagination and putting your ideas into practice when people really like your work *The challenge of solving a problem or doing a great make up really really quickly! working with make up - I love the kit and the colours and the products! And the best one: People getting grossed out by your SFX work!!!

Cons:

The Long hours. People not wanting to pay you for working. The unreliability of work. People not giving you a chance.

Having to do a great make up really really quickly! Sitting around for ages and then having no time to do something really complex Not having regular work and the difficulty of finding paid work Working with difficult actors / actresses

Hope this helps!:) Reply With Quote
