Should I risk losing love for my dream job?

Dear Advice Answerer,

My boyfriend and I met in school almost two years ago. We have been dating for a little over a year. I picked out a ring and he probably will be asking me to marry him in the near future. He is a great catch as he enjoys long walks on the beach, accompanying me to the mall, and taking long vacations. However, we are about to be finished with school and have to accept jobs. The problem is I have been offered a job in his area as well as my dream job with another company (compensation is about the same). The job where he is is in a state that I have no desire of living in, in snow infested climates, with a job I have no interest in working. However, it has been difficult for him to find employment where I want to live and work because he is not a US citizen. Should I go ahead and move where he is until we are married and he gets his green card (in about a year) or move to the city and job I have always dreamed of and probably lose out on the love of my life?

Dear aboutme2, you face a dilemma that many face especially now with the internet being a popular way of meeting. You said you would probably get married…doesn’t sound like it’s 100% sure thing. He’s a great catch but perhaps not necessarily the one. I think if you were really sure this was your true life mate you would be packing your bags. So I think you may have your answer all along. You have to take some time out for yourself and decide wat is more important to you right now. Maybe in this stage in your life your career is more important to you and love comes later. Or love is everything to you and isnt worth risking over a job. You need to find out where your priorities lie right now, so you need to take some time out for yourself to decide. Maybe spend a week alone to think without your bfs influence.
