He’s starving for attention. The easiest way to get him to stop is ignore him. Punishing him won’t help in the beginning. If you ignore him long enough, sometimes, he’ll move on and start cooperating. Even if for a short period, at least it’s a little breather you can take.

Over punishing him won’t help either. His enmity will just grow and he’ll be even more of a pain in the butt.

Children learn by example. If he’s chewing with his mouth open, just chew with yours shut and ignore him. If he’s running around, ignore him. If he gets hurt and starts to cry, ignore him. If he comes to you for comfort then you can, basically, smear it in his face and say something along the lines of “See what happened? You got hurt by doing that. You shouldn’t do that anymore or you can hurt yourself even more next time.”

Basically it boils down to this. If he’s not hitting people or breaking things it’ll pass. It’s a phase we all go through. You probably went through it, also.

The best thing (in my opinion) to do if he hits you. Hit him back. If you don’t put up a fight and protect yourself then he won’t learn that what he’s doing is wrong.

A guy that used to work for me had two kids. One was a few months old and the other about 2. The older one bit the baby. Mom bit the older son. Depending on who you ask that may not have been the proper form of punishment. In my mind it was. Has he done it since then? Nope. He learned that maybe biting people isn’t a nice thing to so.

That’s all I have on my mind as of right now. Any more parenting/sibling tips, let me know. 8D
