What is the link between cholesterol and fat?

If a food contains high amounts of fet yet the package states it is cholesterol free, in what sense is the slogan chemically correct and yet misleading?

It isnt a fat. It’s a steroid product from metabolism. It’s found among the lipids in the body and so when people talk about it they often confuse the two. And yes, a lot of packages are extremely misleading because people often connect cholesterol free with fat free.
