Can You Legally Move Out In Georgia If Your 17 And Pregnant?

Answer #1

Not unless you get emancipated, but but if your parents are willing to let you go, nobody will force you to return.

Answer #2

I was given to understand that the police would not force a 17 year old to return even if the parents are unwilling to let the young person leave. Am I under a misapprehension ?

Answer #3

If she is under 18, and the parents request her returned, police can return her…however….what many people don’t know, is that if she simply refuses to go with them, they won’t force the issue, and the parents will have to file a claim through court for her to be physically returned. That’s not something that we like to encourage, though.

Thanks Colleen.

Answer #5

well this might be kind of long but probably a answer to your question. my sister lived with her father (which is not my father) and she got pregnant at 18. and she had her baby in october of last year. and she moved in with our mom. and my mom didnt have custody of her. and my sis moved in and she came from georgia.. so i guess it is legal. but im 13 so i am not the smartest one on this question lol :) hope it helped
