Similar to the Dell but without the LED screen. Not sure where the best place to buy a laptop is, last time I looked into it was a long time ago and I went with Dell. From a quick search it appears thats still a good way to go. That Dell above is pretty nice. Don't expect huge gaming potential out of it of course, but with a 1GB 5470m it might actually play SOMETHING.
EDIT: Direct link to the Dell: www1.ap.dell.com/...
Well I can tell your which brands are good. Don't EVER get a Dell labtop, their cheaplly made and their has been many reports from people who own Dells, That the HardWare goes bad(>_> and those aren't cheap) Apple Labtops are pretty good but most will cost more then $1000. HP Labtops are really great I have a HP Comptuer that's almost the same age as me (im 15) and it's still super fast. So I say you should buy a Apple Labtop or HP Labtop. Check at BestBuy or WalMart (BestBuy can give you more info on the labtop, but WalMart will give you a better Buy on it)
go onto which they test every electrical item and tell you what they think you can enter you budget too to make the search smaller
Honestly; depends where you buy it from.
