Kids asking us homework answers

I have come across a few members on this site who post a whole heap of questions that are obviously their homework questions, asking us to give them the answers. I can understand asking the odd question, but a whole bunch? Isn’t that cheating? Shouldn’t they be finding out the answers for themselves? I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not about to help any kids cheat.

yeah, haha I think maybe it was yesterday I saw a post asking for someone to write a book report for her, she gave out the specific requirements and that was it. Not even a thanks or a more subtle approach!! lol if anyone asks something that can be easily searched on google, check out this site to use as a response: www.lmgtfy.com hilarious

I feel the same way that you do. However, if all of a sudden questions start getting deleted, and they WEREN’T homework questions, that would create issues. Plus, they might not all be homework questions; they might very well be trivia questions. How does anyone know that any of the questions here aren’t homework questions? Loopholes loopholes loopholes.

Answer #3

Oh, you’re not the only one.

I’ve been irritated at people who obviously can’t be bothered to do a simple google - which is surely easier and a lot quicker (and often moreaccurate) than posting a set of questions here.

And then there was a questioner who wanted someone to find her a sonnet (‘not too famous’) that she could plagiarize for homework - apparently couldn’t be bothered to try to find one herself.

I’m glad to try to help people who have tried to find information and can’t, or who have obviously misunderstood what the assignment was - but I still think the whole point of homework is for the student to learn for him- or herself.

On the other hand, I’ve been a teacher in adult education for some 40+ years, so maybe I’m biased.

Answer #4

stop whining and let them, its their business of what they want to do and if you dont let them they will fail

Answer #5

Now days you don’t have to be smart to get by in life, You just need to know how to Google.lol

Answer #6

I agree with that kids shouldnt be given answers straight away. They should be guided. Theres a difference between that.

Answer #7

When did this question become about me? I am just asking whether letting them ask LOTS of homework questions would be in some way a bad idea…how are they to learn that way?

Answer #8

everybody cheats im sure you have in life…

Answer #9

I’m not whining I’m asking if anyone feels the same way I do. Obviously not.
