Where can a convicted felon find a job?

I’m a convicted felon. Simple assualt & battery (on law enforcement). I live in VA. My nursing license was mandatorily suspended. However, I jumped through all the hoops and it was reinstated but still cannot find any hospital, nursing home, doctors office etc to hire me. I don’t know why in the world the Board of Nursing reinstated my license if I can’t work in my profession. The fast food places say I’m over qualified. This is insane! Last month I went to the Amry recruiter and explained my situation (I’m prior military). They told me that my felony conviction might be “wavierable”. I first have to complete my probation. I was trained as nurse by the Army back in the 80’s so more than likely if I am able to get back the military I know that I’m going overseas. I’ll take it. I need a job and I’m willing to put my life on the line to do just that. Just keep trying. Think of ways to make money for yourself. God bless you my fellow felons. Don’t give up!
