Is my 8 month old Chihuahua pregnant?

I have a question that is almost the same as the other. I have a female that is 10 months old and around one month pregnant. They are both Chihuahuas, but I am concerned because of her age. What could the complications be from being so young?

I’m going to say…probably NOT PG…The pup may or may not have been fertile…but his total inexperence at the actual “act” of mating, would probably have been a huge deterrent in mating with a dog so small…this wouldn’t necessarily be so with an experienced male…tho the damage to the vaginal area of the female would be hard to miss…there is such a thing a “doggie rape”…

well the lady who claims to be a vet tech and says chihuahuas can only have 3 pups must not be no tech ! I been breeding chihuahuas for years now and my brother is a vet. let me tell you , they can have more than 3 !!! every litter mine has there is at least 4 and twice now she had 6 . I know having 4 is normal . they can have from 1 to 6 . but 6 is not likely .the average is 4.I know about 10 other breeders and they would all say it varies but if someone tells you they can only have 3 they are definitely wrong 100 % wrong ! And with yours being so young there is more chances for complications but yet again it can be fine.I had one that was about same age and the first time in heat, bam she got caught and got pregnant.everything was just fine.she delivered 4 perfect healthy babies. I suggest you take her to a vet since this is your first time breeding this type of dog.and get ready to help her deliver them so do some research ! don’t listen to most you hear on here cause they could be wrong.take her to a vet.vets are like human doctors , ya don’t like the 1 , look until ya find 1 you like then stay with them.

BE VERY CAREFUL BECAUSE CHIHAUHUA’S HAVING PUPPYS IS A PAT TIME JOB. MANY CHIHUAHUA’S WHO BECOME PREGNANT LOOSE THEM BECAUSE THEY ARE SO SMALL ITS HARD TO CARRY THEM. I AM A VET TECH AND THE MOST A CHIHUAHUA CAN HAVE IS 3. ONE CHI CAME IN GIVING BIRTH WITH 4 CHI’S AND ONE DIED AND ANOTHER ALMOST DID NOT SURVIVE. MANY CHI’S END UP NEEDING A CSECTION WHICH CAN BECOME VERY EXPENSIVE. BEST TIME TO HAVE PUPPIES IS AFTER A YEAR BUT AGAIN JUST BE VERY CAREFUL AND MAKE SURE YOU AHVE A GOOD VET IN HANDY.
