I've heard it is a good way to detox your body, but is it safe? I'd really like to hear from people who have personal experience.
A friend of mine has fasted before with good results (lost a fair amount of weight in a short period of time). However, it's important to see your doctor, and make sure your body is in good health before fasting.
And for most people, a fruit / vegetable fast is a good way to go, and not completely skip meals, because they don't have as much weight they can afford to lose, etc. Also when you fast, there is some muscle loss, so be prepared to feel weaker than normal and get lots of rest.
In general, unless it's for religious reasons, I think fasting should be avoided and instead a balanced diet with exercise should be followed. It'll still "clear your head" and won't leave you feeling weak, and you can still lose a lot of weight following that plain, simple, tried & true approach.
if your looking just to detox your body drink a gallon of water a day its about the same thing and you can still eat healthy.
