i have the 4th gen but haven’t heard of ping chat, it has facetime though :)

I think ping chat is like a texting app, I don’t think any one iPod comes with Ping Chat. I’m pretty sure you have to download it from the App Store, because I have the 3rd generation, and I was able to get it.
