The most important thing is to figure out what interests you the most. There are SO many different types of books out there. I usually go for the angsty teenager ones, haha. I’d suggest taking some time to read the first few pages of a book before you buy it so that you’ll find out right away if you like the author’s writing style and everything. It can be hard finding a book that you can really connect with and enjoy, but you just have to keep looking. I personally started to love reading after I read the book “Leftovers” by Laura Wiess a few years ago. I’m not sure what you’re into, but I would seriously recommend getting this book. The characters are totally relatable, and the plot is just amazing. It's definitely a page turner. (If you want any more recommendations, I can totally give you more! Just ask. I'm seriously such a book nerd.)
Search for books that cover subjects that interest you the most. Go onto a site like Amazon and type in subjects that you like, and they will show lists of books on those subjects :)
know what your are interesting in and visite the library sometime, there are people who knows a lot about books and could get you the one to get started with.
Maybe there is something (s) you have always wanted to know about or learn about but never have before. That would be a place to start.
Practice with light material first - maybe comics you enjoy or a graphic novel, then step up to the more advanced material.
just keep reading, pretend youre the character. do skits acti it out in your head
And don't give up after the first few pages, keep reading cuz they get better
Read books that you can actually relate to and are at your reading level.
Read books you're interested in! :)
