well depends on what your degree is and what course you are taking.
basic courses are:
Molecules and Cells, 25%
Heredity and Evolution, 25%
Organisms and Populations, 50%
while the more advanced will deal with actual microscopes rather than just a theoretical study... this may vary from college to college though

Yes, all the time. For my biology studies I use light and phase contrast and confocal microscopy, and in the past I have done some electron microscopy also
deffo no microscopes, at most it's gonna be a slideshow of examples :D
