Make it something simple please
Tomato and Broccoli Soup.
1 teaspoon olive oil 3/8 large onion, chopped 1 clove garlic 5 ounces broccoli crowns, coarsely chopped 5/8 (14.5 ounce) can diced tomatoes 3/8 (15 ounce) can chicken broth 2 tablespoons and 2 teaspoons low-fat milk salt and ground black pepper to taste
Heat olive oil in a stockpot over medium heat. Cook and stir onion in hot oil until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir garlic through the onion; cook and stir until garlic is fragrant and slightly soft, another 1 to 2 minutes.
3.Place broccoli, diced tomatoes, and chicken broth into the stockpot. Reduce heat to medium-low, bring the mixture to a simmer, and cook until the broccoli is completely softened, 30 to 40 minutes.
5.Pour the soup into a blender, filling the pitcher no more than halfway. Hold the lid of the blender firmly in place and carefully start the blender, using a few quick pulses to get the soup moving before leaving it on to puree. Puree in batches until smooth and pour into a serving dish. Season with salt and black pepper to serve.
This was my grandmothers dish. 1) boil macoroni noodles. 2) seperate pan, tomato sauce with diced tomatoes. 3) cook till finished, of course. 4) drain noodles and add butter. 5) make a bowl :) I love to add alittle bit of salt and chili powder. But not much.
Chop up a clove of garlic, a shallot, and saute in a frying pan on medium heat with the diced tomatoes. Toss them around a bit, add salt and fresh basil, and serve as a side to anything.
