I want to be a veterinarian

I want to be a vetinarian once I graduate highschool. Does anybody know how many years of college you have to go through to get a degree? What are some good colleges I could go to in Maryland?

Talk to some vets in your local area and draw on their experience and suggestions - make sure you’re taking school courses now that will prepare you for that profession - if it’s what you truely love, let ‘no-one’ tell you that you can’t…I wish you every success !!

It’s 4 years in undergraduate, then it’s another 4 years in vet school, and then probably a couple of year internship… (it’s not too different from med school). It doesnt matter where you go for your undergraduate program, just aim for the best school possible… This will give you more information, links to vet schools around the country and what you need to get into the schools http://www.aavmc.org/
