It all depends on their emotional state of mind, too. That person might not be in a joking mood. Some people might be cool, but you say the wrong thing and they get pissed. Everyone takes jokes differently. I am very passive, not much bothers me.

Everyone has different feeling I mean something that you find funny could be really nasty to another person e.g. blonde jokes, jokes about there mum like how do you no there mum hasnt died
