Go with some soul and funk from the 70s. Try KC & the Sunshine Band, the Bar Kays, and even some Ike and Tina. It was good music, much better than the mindless, bubble-gum sh*t that hits the airwaves these days.

I totally agree with mjax… I liked Tina WITH Ike… not so much on her own. I also like portishead and garbage…
