Anyone remember the episode on Malcolm in the Middle where Reese has to do some studying and keeps being distracted by ANY little thing? Mom finally puts him in an absolutely empty room, NOTHING to get distracted by, and he starts to pick at a loose thread on his sweater. Mom comes back a while later to check on him and he’s sitting there with no shirt on, and a huge pile of yarn. He has completely unravelled the entire sweater. I can’t forget that episode because that is me. Look, I’m writing this while I’m supposed to be doing a take-home mid-term. There could be a neurological reason for not being able to concentrate. Attention Deficit Disorder might be something we should look into. It’s not something that you have to have a full-blown case of- there are degrees, just like being overweight. You can be a little overweight and no one is going to call you fat or think that you have a problem. It’s just when it’s really bad that people can’t help but notice. So those really hyper-active kids who can’t sit still get diagnosed with ADHD, some with only ADD, and people like me? Our parents just say “I don’t know why she doesn’t get better grades. She studies.” And “She doesn’t apply herself.” Things like that. The only way I can study is by waiting for the adrenaline to kick in. The night before something is due, I sit up all night long in a last-ditch effort to get it done on time. The house is quite (no distractions,) and I’m getting scared. But what a way to study! Maybe seeing a doctor and getting help would be a better solution. I know these 20 candy bars aren’t helping me!

hey its okay to be stressed , but only when its useful. any way heres what I think you should do ,

also this is what you can do,to remove all problems from your life;

1–Never let your inner mental peace be disturbed by external circumstances- “Param Pujya Sant Shri Asaramji Bapu”.

2– hey first of all stop sweating, I can understand your problem. here is what I think you should do;

–chant ‘hari om’(hari as in HURRY & om as in HOME without the ‘H’) do this repetedly & a point will come where you will feel like just close your eyes & do that .At this point increase the number of O in om like HARI OOOM & then HARI OOOM & so on.when you chant this VEDIC MANTRA then remain silent (no thinking!,fidgeting,moving,etc) for an amount of time taken to chant this one mantra.this looks very very simple but its effects are very very very large (even ALBERT EINSTEIN would not had imagine it !!!).

this is called ‘CHUP SADHANA’ & I learned it from ‘param pujya ASARAMJI bapu’.—>”www.asharam.org”

also read JEEVAN RASAYAN a book from —“http://hariombooks.googlepages.com/Elixir_of_life.htm”

      tihs will help remove all weakness from you,believe me millions have obtained benefits from it ,literally.

note—women during their periods are not supposed to chant OM .

They say to listen to some relaxing, slow music to help get the mind focused and thinking properly, it kind of eases the brain and doesn’t give you a headache like when you’re thinking of too many things and start getting stuff mixed up.

Then outline the work, as chapters, then sections/lessons, main ideas, and detail it a little bit, but not too much. after doing this you can make yourself a quiz that would force you to remember the work.

For everyone hour that you work, before you start studying, listen to relaxing music for 10 minutes. make sure your in a quiet environment, maybe listen to some music even while your studying-no cell phone, computer(unless needed)-if you need it don’t be on a social site, or any games or anything other than work. then listen to more music, work, music, work…etc etc. this helps me a lot especially for midterms :] I got 100% on a 750 point Spanish midterm, 100% on algebra midterm, and all my other classes I got a 98%, so trust me, it really does work. :]

-hope this helps you!- it did for me(:

I found two techniques helpful to study for exams (ACT, GRE, subject tests, professional certifications, etc.).

Study in 15 minute increments. Often you get more out of the first 15 minuts of studying than you do from the next hour. The best thing you can do is chunk out several 15 minute times throughout the day for study. Of course when you have a lot to study you need more time than 15 minutes; In this case take breaks often.

Outline whatever you are studying. Every chapter you read outline what it presents. Outlining forces you to isolate the facts from the rest of the verbiage. Pretend you will have to teach this to someone else; what do you need to know in order to be able to teach it to someone else?

For things that are rote memorization devise neumatic devices. Sometimes the most off-color ones are the easiest to remember. For example, the resistor color code for digits 0-9 is Black, Brown Red, Orange, Yellow Green, Blue, Violet, Grey, White. Most teachers use the nemmonic Black Bears Raid Our Yellow Grain But Violets Grow Wild. Not very memorable. Students have long taught each other Bad Boys Rape Our Young Girls But Violet Gives Willingly, not very nice but chances are you will remember it after one hearing.

I failed in 8th standard how I should study ples helpe me anyon pleeass

Answer #7

Well being relaxed, surrounded in a quiet environment and sleep is must, plenty of sleep will enable you to concentrate, make sure you are not worried about your exams or anything else, it is vital that you’re mind is clear so that you have better conentration and whatever you are revising will stay in your head for longer.

There are many methods for revising when it comes to exams, such as the following:

reading out loud to your self writing down what you have revised asking somebody to test you on what you know and what you need to know making a quiz for your self to revise what you dont know

good luck with the exams! (‘’,)

Hey, I cant study too, it s boring, discusting, stressfull. Just get some paper and write down all your class notes again while watching tv or listening music even if you do not understand. Eventually, you learn sth. than later, you can turn back and try to understand parts you feel confusing in a better mode. This works for me. Everybody is different. Find a way. REALLY Good LUCK! Ka

I suffer from the very same problem. I even manage to keep away from all the attractions, but still even after hours on the study table, I complete what anormal person could in 15 min…the reason is that I have no control over my actions… whenever I’m solving a tricky Maths question…I dont know how it happens… but I start thinking about something else or start drawing pictures right where I was solving the question..this usually continues for at least 15 minutes before I realise that I’m not studying…… I dont know wether its true or not.. but I heard that there is a software that uses a webcam to ensure that you remain in the studying position it starts to beep whenever you are not….(like the play station eye works). sound’s good for guys like me….not that I really need such a thing, but has anyone else heard of it? Answer #15

the best idea is to do meditation and some important yoga.and u can do some work which will make u concentration like standing in one leg..etc STEPS

1 Take out a piece of rough paper and list the rows from 1-10. Then, before you hit the books, brainstorm 10 ‘pros’ on why you should concentrate. Don’t even think about the ‘cons’, because you’ll never come up with the ‘pros’ if you think about the ‘cons’. And, list out the objectives that you’ll achieve after your studies. This will

Answer #16

I dont have exams.. but I have to write a long document (~50 pages) on my final project, for which I have to read several papers. I have a hard time concentrating on those as well. What works best for me (and it worked with my exams too) is sitting in a place with few people around, and then putting some monotonic music in my ears like trance (if you’re too lazy to download music like me, http://ah.fm streams trance 24/7 with almost no DJs talking)

What may also work: avoid sitting in a place where you usually relax (tv/games) because you need to break that association with your environment. Try sitting somewhere completely different if possible, perhaps among other people who study.
