How to get a sponsor?

I’m not sure if any skateboarding brand sponsors a person through college but I don’t want to go to National Guard cause I don’t want to leave my girlfriend for boot camp,no matter how long it is. The only brands I know that I can count on is DC and Element. Would or do they sponsor people that don’t skateboard cause I would love for them to sponsor me in college and period?

I really dont think big brands like those will sponsor you straight away first you should enter skate competitions in your area so smaller brands can sponsor you, folklore is a good skate brand thats usually looking for people to sponsor at comps and I dont think any brand ill sponsor you through college theyll only sponsor you for as long as they choose too
