Pedal up to a speed at which you feel confident and stable. Stand up out of the saddle, with the crank arms and pedals roughly horizontal, bearing most of your weight through your feet and onto the pedals. Bend your knees to lower your centre of gravity (in doing so your momentum will compress the tyres a bit more). Pull the handlebars upwards while simultaneously performing a jumping motion by straightening the the legs suddenly. Keep practising until you acquire the desired level of proficiency. As you get more confident, you will be able to perform the manoeuvre at slower speeds and still get good lift off the ground
