How much tax is going to be taken out of my check, I make 10.25/hr?

I am starting a new job and we have to put our own taxes on the side. Do anyone know how much I should put on the side? Please help. I want everything decent and in order. Thanks.

That of course depends on where you live and work! Both can affect the amount of tax that you will need to pay. Ask your other co-workers or go see a professional accountant do your taxes for you.

This is what I could find on the web but you need to verify the numbers: http://www.meocpa.com/pr-tax.html

-The employer is to withhold 7.65% (2002-2005 Rate) from the employee’s payroll so in your case this would be the amount withheld by yourself. -Medcare tax is not charged (unless you are making over $84,900 a year) -Also don’t forget that the federal government (IRS) collects an unemployment tax at the rate of .8% of the first $7,000 of an employee’s wages. The actual tax is 6.2% but you are allowed a credit of 5.4% if all of the state unemployment taxes are timely paid. If not, then the full 6.2 % tax applies.
