I've had a tongue ring for 6 years now what I would suggest if it raw or uncomfortable take it out brush your teeth and get a tongue scraper just basically clean your mouth really well. Clean all your jewelry and before you put it back in use the salt they give you or go get some, sea salt, use that till any pain goes away. because if its infected or just irritated the salt will clean the hole and I would do that for maybe 2 or 3 days and any pain should go away. Try not to play with it or pull it while its sore tho that will only iritate it more. The tongue is the fastest healing piercing you can get so it should heal itself rather quickly. If that doesn't work id go see a doctor or maybe think about taking it out.

I had one, but SIGH I took it out b/c it healed weird... the spot where the barbell was made like a vagina looking thing on my tongue.. it still hasnt closed up.. [not the hole, the vagina looking slit]
They're NOT disgusting at all. I'm 100% fine with ALL piercings AND tattoos. As long as their done properly and taken care of properly, there's NOTHING wrong with them.
I have my tongue done too. I've had it for mmm roughly 4 years now. I love it... couldn't picture not having one. lol! It's a part of me now. hahahaha
I had one for a while I had to take it out though because my mom almost found out.
