Is it hard? Or easy?
well depends answer the following
how long are you willing to put up with sucking
how long will you try to play ( play periods like an hour a day??)
do you have friends that can inspire you to want to know more?
can you keep a beat decently ( if you cant keep a beat youll have to learn fast)
are your parents, siblings, people around you ready to hear your sucking?
this is how it starts bro, took me a year then I played a little rif that I enjoyed that sounded good, my dad walked by and said woah who taught you that, I said me and I was hooked. nothin comes easy you just gotta hammer in a lot of practice but ya should get the hang of it
to get started I recomend you learn
smoke on the water tell you get it down perfect
play enough so that your fingers get calloused
learn different strumming techniques
if your playing an electric get some head phones so that your less annoying and you can play longer with out your mom going ok put it down im dyin here lol
gradually start to listen to songs and pick out peices you can play. try slow songs
learn how to tune you guitar to standard. if you like metal and rock you may want to look up drop D tuning ( easy after you get standard down)
I recomend you later learn harmonics on a guitar and then how to tune by harmonics ( best way to tune because its nearly perfect)
I first hammered my self into learning a harder song because I hated learning marry had a little lamb and all that though for your first few they are good for chord progression and moving your fingers to the right spots
I learned how to play three days grace's song never too late. its in drop D and its really hard to learn as a beginner and get perfect but when you get it you 1 have a cool song you can play
2 know how to play a lot better
3 and have the ability to play a little more challenging songs.
good luck need anything im here dude
although this wasn't my question it helped a lot, thanks! I'm planning on teaching myself because i don't have the money to have lessons because it's either horse back riding lessons, voice lessons, or guitar lessons and i chose horses lol
It's easy to an extent... I've heard a lot of people have done it. If you get a good book, it'll definitely be easier. But it's still a lot more difficult than if you had someone teach you. Work hard and you'll probably be fine. :]
its hard and frustrating but you'll get good if you keep at it for awhile. its fun when you get good at it
