How do I get over my best friend?

uh basically he had a crush on me and I had a crush on him when we sorta first met, we were friends with benefits for almost two months but we liked each other and flirted for about three months he even asked if he would ask me to be his girlfriend will I say yes, I told him yes but he said he’ll just keep it in mind but he saw me more as a best friend and I still like him so he broke it off and a week later he went out with another girl. I’m always there for him always…you have no idea when he tells me he’s sad I cut school drop everything to see him because I’m so worried he’s been through a lot and I just want him happy

he’s always sad they just diagnosed him with depression I’m always there for him his girlfriend dosen’t do her job she’s so selfish and conceited does things that benefit her not him he’s a sorta needy guy and likes affection when they broke up he will constantly call me and text me as if I was his girlfriend and now that they got back together he dosen’t even text me or call me as he used to its rarely. I basically feel like if I’m girlfriend number 2 when something goes wrong with her he goes over with me I wanna move on I think he hinted recently that nothing will ever happen with us. I haven’t told him I still like him, but im pretty sure he knows. he’s a serious guy who likes serious relationships its been five months since he told me he see’s me as a friend and I still haven’t gotten over him I don’t want it to go any longer I wanna move on so bad I understand he fell so hard for that girl and that he doesn’t like me its his loss that he dosen’t like me I wanna move on but guys around my area don’t interest me he’s really intelligent and really sweet acts like a gentlemen and he’s really funny and handsome basically a girl’s dream. we’ve been through so much he’s my best friend I want to keep it that way but I don’t want to like him when he dosen’t like me and its clear nothing will happen. I want to move on how can I?
