How do I do Day of Silence in a Catholic School?

I am in eighth grade at a Catholic Middle School. This Friday is Day of Silence. On the National Day of Silence hundreds of thousands of students nationwide take a vow of silence to bring attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in their schools. I understand that it is not part of the school’s religion to believe in homosexuality, but I want to address my class on the fact that we should tolerate versus hate. Good or bad idea?

Id personally get on the P.A. (loudspeakers) and yell the 7 words you cant say on t.v. Just to piss em off for starters second, I would chew out all the bigot christians and then ask them to blow me and drive home.

Answer #2

if you attend a catholic school than you are receiving religious education. religious education already teaches that it is wrong to hate or bully anyone. our faith teaches that we are to love all of our brothers and sisters. the catholic faith does not hate gay people. it teaches that the act of homosexuality is unnatural. the public schools are not fortunate enough to receive religious education and feel that this day of silence is neccessary. be happy that you attend of school that teaches those truths everyday and defend the rights of all people.
