How come Australia does not have cheerleading

Is cheerleading an American thing, is that why cheerleading is not in Australia?

lol we have cheerleaders in Oz but its not as popular in high schools as it is in the USA… you do know our Aussie Jennifer Hawkins the Miss Universe 2004 was a cheerleader before she won the crown..

They have female cheerleaders when the men national basketball leagues are on and male cheerleaders for the women national basketball.

The only sport they dont have cheerleaders are during AFL games, but the WAG more or less make up for it ;)

Well, Cheerleading is spreading Worldwide and is starting to hit it’s hype in quite a few places now, it’s just biggest in the U.S. Some places in Australia are probably more than likely trying to get a cheering gym going. If you have interest in it, maybe you should try (or recommend that someone with the proper training try) to start a gym. :)

No cheerleading is not just an “American thing” We have cheerleaders for footy teams just not for High School footy teams like you do
