If you have an abcess tooth, you will know it. I’ve had 2 of them - and it is extremely painful and usually your face near the tooth will swell up as well. Also, usually a bubble of puss (the abcess) will form in your mouth on your gums and will be very painful.

For an abcess tooth they must first give you antibiotics before they can do anything. You would have to go back a few days later to get the tooth taken care of.

A filling is usually used when you just have a cavity that needs drilling out or a cracked tooth.

a tooth abscess is defined as a collection of pus that forms due to a bacterial infection at the centre of the tooth or the area between the gum and the tooth. It is a fairly common condition and is characterized by rapid, painful onset. So it is not such a small problem. We need to have a deep understanding about it. Just check it out yourself at tooth-abcess-relief(dot)com. I have learned from their e-book and I can do the treatment naturally at home. Amazingly, their method is work!
