How can I speed up my computer?

Ok, I guess thats pretty vague. but I’ve went into add/remove programs, and taken out everything that I dont need. But what else can I do? its still extremely slow! Its a 2.9ghz proscessor and I feel like im on dial up its so slow. my other computer had a 2.2ghz proscessor and it was very fast. So how else can I speed up my computer?

Answer #1

nah its not the internet connection, just the slowness of the ocmputer…but this stuff seemed to help a little bit, thanks

Answer #2

First off, Hidan, you’re an idiot. Overclocking is for those who know what they’re doing, and have adequate cooling, else youre more likely to fry your system than gain any real benefit. Besides, a 2.9ghz is already faster than a 2.2ghz, depending on the type and generation of the processor

Fau, good, but registry editing is touchy.

Now, im guessing this is either an old computer, youve been runnning for a while, or a new one.

If its a new one, your best bet for adding some speed, is to increas your memory. its easy enough to do, but if your unsure, DO call a pro. there are plenty of techs in your area waiting to do business with you, so dont worry about paying the GeekSquad their $200 ripoff fee to show up.

if its an older tower, there are a few programs you can run to clean up junk and adware. These links will help. Install them, run em once every two weeks or so, and make sure to update them at least once a month. These are what I run on my own system.

Ad-Aware - Free. Removes malware from your computer http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-2008/3000-8022_4-10045910.html

Advanced System Care - Also free. Cleans and protects against malware, and does a few other things to help keep your system running smoothly. http://www.download.com/Advanced-SystemCare-Free/3000-2086_4-10407614.html

Answer #3

Seo Services Just clean your total drive and run defragmentation

Answer #4

If you defragment, get rid of your temporary files, clean out your internet cache, and make sure your registry isn’t corrupted or bloated it’ll make a big difference in your PC speed. You have to clean up your computer physically too, make sure there isn’t a lot of dust build-up in your machine.
