DEFRAGMENT! then download dustbuster xp and run it. If you can’t figure out how to find the program and download it I suggest you take it to a computer repair service.

Answer #2

The only problem with backing up now is you will also backup the problem you originally have. More than likely your registry is gummed up I suggest you uninstall any extra programs you have running at start up install and run Ad-aware 2007 from lavasoft (free) and a program called Regcure ($) And do a little system maintainance. any advice on Nero needed I suggest you contact Nero customer service and ask an expert on the software.

You can reset Windows XP password by re-installing your system. Step 1: Turn your Windows XP computer on after you have inserted a Windows XP installation disk into the CD drive. And then you need to press any key to open the Windows setup program window. Step 2: Press “Enter” to set up your Windows XP. And then press “F8”, which means that you agree the end-user license agreement (http://www.adobe.com/products/eula/tools/ ). After that, you will see the following screen. Step 3: In the next screen, press “R” in order to confirm that you will get the selected Windows XP installation repaired. And then you will see that the setup wizard itself starts to copy files from the disk you inserted just now. Wait until the copy is finished. Step 4: Your computer will be restarted and then it boot automatically from the hard drive. And the step-by-step installation will go on. Press the shortcut key “Shift+F10” to open a command prompt. Input “controluserpassword2” and press “Enter”. Step 5: You will see the “User Accounts” window here. Select the account you will reset password for. Then tap on the “Reset Password” and “OK” to open the “Reset Password” screen as below. Step 6: Enter your new password twice. After you have finished the repair, try to login onto your Windows XP with your new password. You can also make use of password reset tools such as Windows Login Recovery from http://www.windowsloginrecovery.com. Ophcrack is also highly recommended.
