What would happen if you mixed hair dye with peroxide ?

It says not too, but why ? :o

Answer #1

well because peroxide contains chemicals that can make your hair fall out if your trying to achieve a lighter color than what the box says i would say after applying the mixture to your hair…..put a bag on ya head and tie it and blow dry it trust me your hair will be white

Answer #2

because there both dangerouse chemicals, im not sure what the reaction would be if you mixed them, but its extreemly dangerouse to mix chemicals, especially serious ones like hairdyes and peroxides. one possible reaction would be that it could explode, or if you happened to use it, would probably burn your hair off and leave you with 3rd degree burns, i dont know exactly what would happen, but it would be very dangerouse, please dont be silly and actually mix them together

Answer #3

i read somewhere that if you were to mix the two you will start having problems with your hair like damage to the scalp, your hair will be damaged, your hair will probably come out a weird color

Answer #4

It probably causes an exothermic reaction (produces heat) and perhaps an explosion, but without knowing the exact chemicals in the dye… Most likely a very dangerous move!!

Answer #5

A lot of dye already has peroxide in the developer (semi permanent and permanent colors) There are some dyes that contain natural ingredients which may interact with the peroxide. If it says not to, don’t do it. Also you can always call their 800 number and ask one of their experts for a more exact answer.

Answer #6

You really can’t guarantee her hair will be white. I have gone to salon after salon to get that “white” hair look and they are never as successful as I would like. Mind you, I have natural blonde hair and I would still have the yellow look after the salon and they put the hair bleach on bag it up and put me under a dryer. You have to be careful with the heat/lightener because you can damage not only your hair, but your scalp. The lighteners already produce heat, and a lot of it. So if you are not careful bad things can happen. I have done that myself and had some serious burns on my scalp and my hair was so brittle I could have cut it with my fingers. It broke so easily.

Answer #7

Some colours and bleaches have peroxide already in them, but you’d have to list the ingredients on the exact colour/box for me to tell you what the reaction would be as every colour has different chemicals at different ratios making up the colour.

Answer #8

lol well i was using a bit of sarcasm lol

Answer #9

I’d never try that, ow. I was just curious. (x
