Am I missing something using Adsense?

I have been working with Adsense for last 6 months but I don’t get paid that much. I get many impressions but no clicks. I don’t get anything unless I get clicks. Is there anything I am missing?

A company I worked for years ago made about 100,000 monthly from adsense. The largest free dating site has a well known case study where they mention they make hundreds of thousands of dollars per month from adsense. But, they also get a billion + monthly pageviews.

Try to make your site more appealing to users, and experiment with ad color, layout, and position, as well as increase your overall site traffic. A certain % of users will click, so the best strategy is to increase your traffic, thus earning more revenue. There is a stat I’ve heard from the direct marketing industry with a broad enough net, 2% of users will take a desired action - typically, you can get an even larger response than that for Adsense. Then, as your traffic growse, your revenue will grow in tandem.
