Fridges

My 2 year old drew on my white fridge with black biro, so an older person told me to use nail plish remover, I did so an it dissapeared, but left a dry white mark on the fridge, it is very noticable too

Yeah don’t use nail polish remover or other strong solvents on plastic, it’ll eat away at the plastic. That white mark is actually haze from the roughened plastic, etched a little as the surface got partly dissolved.

You may be able to fix it with some rubbing compound and a cloth. You can find the stuff at auto parts stores. But test a small area first to make sure you don’t end up scratching it up even more. Rubbing compound is basically like liquid ultra fine sandpaper. So it’ll get anything off b/c it’s actually removing a little plastic and sanding it smooth. If that’s not strong enough even after rubbing for a while (doesn’t remove much haze nor add more haze), you can try 1000 grit sandpaper before the rubbing compound, but then you run a greater risk of scratching and/or roughening (and hazing) the surface yourself. 1000 grit sandpaper is a little coarser than rubbing compound, but still super fine compared to lower number sandpapers.

Or just ignore the problem. Rubbing compound is a pain to keep rubbing back and forth for so many minutes, heh.

Most likely the nail polish remover ate away at the surface of the fridge - you can’t remove that.

Mr. Clean Magic Eraser would have been a better option.
