Fordyce spots: more prominent over time?

I had some white spots under my foreskin checked out at a clinic recently (there is no irritation of any kind), and the doctor after some tests (vinegar test to eliminate possibility of HPV), and a close look told me they were Fordyce spots and not a STD or any infection. Fordyce spots according to my research start to exist around puberty and are generally harmless. I never noticed these spots before. Is it possible for Fordyce Spots to become more prominent over time?

I realise that the vinegar test is not full proof (though I was told only 90% accurate), and that the cell scraping to seek DNA is also not accurate (70% approx). Is it possible that my STD clinic doctor got it wrong or am I just paranoid?

Dear fau, Because everyone is different it is hard to say if you will get more or not. This is a common occurrence and you need to relax and accept it. It doesn’t change who you are. You may be paranoid but please if you still feel there is a problem go back and get retested. You think you could have contacted an STD…so we will assume you had unprotected sex at some point. Hope lesson was leaned. Sue…good luck
